Dean for America, the presidential campaign organized by former Vermont Governor Howard Dean, harnessed the power of the Internet to raise funds and mobilize supporters like never before. Through an innovative understanding and application of Internet tools and techniques, the campaign greatly increased excitement, urgency, and donations nationwide.
During 2003, Dean for America raised over $40 million, an unheard of amount for a Democratic candidate. Nearly half of this total was generated online.
